Thornton Rust a small village nestling at the base of Addlebrough in Upper Wensleydale is an ideal centre for both touring and walking in the Yorkshire Dales. Surrounding Thornton Rust are meadows and upland pastures in which cows and sheep quietly graze: these are criss-crossed by bubbling streams and a host of footpaths suitable for both the after lunch stroller and the more seriously inclined A lovely spot then to enjoy a holiday exploring the countless delights of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

Barn House is a detached stone built cottage with magnificent views over the fields to the fells beyond. Featuring attractive, tasteful accommodation, well equipped and warm, with a wood burning stove in the Lounge and full oil fired central heating/hot water system with radiators in every room.

DOWNSTAIRS: Entrance hall. Fully fitted kitchen with stanely cooker (which also drives the central heating), fridge, dishwasher, microwave and a very attractive mosaic tiled wall, which depicts a dale scene, (The owner of the cottage designed this tiling).Dining room with table and chairs, a piano, 2 seater settee and CD player, the views from this room are truly beautiful. Lounge with colour TV, video, wood burning stove, 3 seater settee and chair. Utility room with an automatic washing machine. A wet shower room with toilet. UPSTAIRS: 2 double bedrooms, one with a hand washbasin and a twin bedded room. Bathroom with bath, hand washbasin, separate shower cubicle and toilet.

OUTSIDE: Gardens to the front and rear of the cottage. The garden to the rear is lawned and flagged with a picnic bench. In one corner of the garden are fruit bushes and trees please help yourself when they are in fruit. The panoramic views from this garden to the fells beyond are magnificent. The front garden is lawned with flower beds.

SERVICES: Unlimited oil central heating/hot water system with radiators in every room, wood for the stove, and electricity , all bed linen, towels and tea towels are included in the rent. Sorry no pets are allowed. No smoking permitted in the cottage. This cottage is not suitable for children under 14. Private parking for 3 cars. Weekend Bookings are accepted but please check with Country Cottage Holidays first.
