Simonstone in Upper Wensleydale offers stunning scenery, some of the finest on offer in the Yorkshire Dales.On the doorstep of Swallowdale is Shaw Gill Wood and Ghyll which tumbles down the valley to Hardraw Scaur the highest single drop waterfall in England.Simonstone is a small hamlet situated on the road leading to Swaledale which takes you over the Buttertubs Pass.Within walking distance of the cottage is Simonstone Hall where you can have a morning coffee on the terrace (while you swallow up the magnificents views) or dinner in the orangery.It is centrally located for visiting all the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the North Yorkshire Moors all within day trip driving range and wonderful scenery all the way.

This is walking country par excellence and a stroll alongside the River Ure as it threads its way between rocks and the rapids at Aysgarth are a holiday highlight that must not be missed.Hawes approximately one mile is a traditional stone built market town of character with pubs, restuarants, tea rooms, and a very good selection of shops.There are interesting visitor attractions including a working rope makers, Dales Countryside Museum and the much publicised Gayle Mill as featured in the BBC programme " Restoration".
